When I started this project, I had no idea what I was going to do. Honestly, it took me until this week to get an idea that I actually liked. I decided that I wanted to do something that I could have a little fun with and incorporate a couple of different techniques and perspectives. From that idea, I decided to make "Scream 2.0".
For this final project I decided to put a twist on something that we had already done before. To do this, I revisited two of our previous projects. I went to the project where we used items that were significant and the verb Richard Serra verb project. I did a combination of the two. I chose something that meant a lot to me and I altered it using one of the verbs from the list. The verb I used was "to crumble". In order to get the crumbling effect, I used snipping tool to cut the image of my beloved headphones into small pieces. From there I went on to the fun part. I wanted to show exactly what kind of effect this would have if it were to actually happen. So what I did is took the famous "Scream" painting by Edvard Munch and put my image over it. I figured this would show a deeper emotional connection to this item if it were my face. Plus I thought it was kind of funny.
Overall, I'm fairly satisfied with my outcome. I'm not a very creative person when it comes to projects like this and the fact that I was able to do something where I liked the outcome and I had fun with is good enough for me. I wish I would've had this idea from the start though. I feel like if I had this in mind before this week I would've been able to do a lot more with this.
